- Dhriti Chatterjee is the Founder and Principal of Kolkata School of Music (KSM), an institution established with the vision of imparting authentic, structured, and rigorous training in Indian Classical and Semi-Classical vocal music. Under her leadership, KSM is committed to preserving the parampara of Hindustani music while integrating systematic pedagogy suited to contemporary learners.
- An accomplished Indian Classical and Semi-Classical vocal performer, trainer, and vocal coach, Dhriti Chatterjee has worked extensively across academic institutions, freelance platforms, and corporate environments as a grooming and voice culture mentor. Her teaching methodology emphasizes clarity of swara, structured raga development, voice culture, breath control, and performance refinement.
- Her musical training has been shaped under the guidance of eminent maestros. She is currently under the tutelage of Pandit Sajan Mishra, recipient of the Padma Bhushan, and Shubha Mudgal, recipient of the Padma Shri. From a very early age, she received taalim in the Vishnupur Gharana under Acharya Jayanta Bose.
- She has also received guidance from Suhasini Koratkar of the Bhendibazaar Gharana and Padma Talwalkar of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. Exposure to multiple gharana traditions has enriched her understanding of raga architecture, layakari, voice culture techniques, and stylistic nuance.
- As a performer, she has presented Indian Classical and Semi-Classical vocal music across various parts of India and abroad, engaging audiences with diverse musical sensibilities and listening traditions.
- Previously, she served as a Vocal Music Teacher at Ruby Park Public School, Kolkata (House of DPS), and as a Visiting Lecturer for undergraduate students of Hindustani Classical Music at Spicer College, Pune.
